The Plymouth County Mosquito Control Project, other Massachusetts mosquito control projects, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health devote a great deal of time and energy on educating the public about how to protect themselves from the illnesses caused by mosquitoes, such as West Nile Virus (WNV) and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).  By adding mosquito education to your classroom, you can help us fight mosquito borne viruses.  The Project understands that Massachusetts classrooms are expected to align their teaching with the state's Curriculum Frameworks.  As a result we have identified connections in certain subjects and grade levels for Science, Technology and Engineering and Comprehensive Health.  Additionally, we have identified potential connections to the History and Social Science Frameworks.

If you are an educator and see other connections, please let us know at info@plymouthmosquito.org.  If you are have already added lessons in mosquito education for your students and would like to share those lessons with other educators, we will add them to our website with your permission.
